Pay attention to yourself!! (not craft related)

We all get so busy doing things for others, keeping up with work, thinking "if I don't do it who will", that we forget to pay attention to the things our body is telling us. Do yourself, your family and your friends a favor and STOP IT!!

A good friend of mine had a brain aneurysm burst on Friday. Thank God she was on the operating table when it happened. She is struggling, but is still fighting!! Please pray if you are so inclined.

The pay attention part is from some information we have all learned over the last few days. She had been having headaches for a few days before the incident that sent her to the hospital. Here are some statistics from The Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

Pay attention and go get checked if you have:
  • Localized Headache
  • Dilated pupils
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Pain above and behind eye
  • Weakness and numbness
  • Difficulty speaking
Get help immediately if you have any of these symptoms:
  • Sudden severe headache, the worst headache of your life
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Nausea/Vomiting
  • Stiff Neck
  • Sudden blurred or double vision
  • Sudden pain above/behind the eye or difficulty seeing
  • Sudden change in mental status/awareness
  • Sudden trouble walking or dizziness
  • Sudden weakness and numbness
  • Sensitivity to light (photophobia)
  • Seizure
  • Drooping eyelid
  • Brain aneurysms are most prevalent in people ages 35 - 60, but can occur in children as well. The median age when aneurysmal hemorrhagic stroke occurs is 50 years old and there are typically no warning signs. Most aneurysms develop after the age of 40.
  • Women, more than men, suffer from brain aneurysms at a ratio of 3:2.

  1. How scary!! Prayers going up for your friend. Thank God she had immediate care available. Prayers for you, too, as her caring and encouraging friend.

    Hugs,
    Janis
